Happy Cinco de Mayo! YAY! A few weeks ago, I shared a few ways to create the ultimate Cinco De Mayo fiesta at home. Of course, I couldn't suggest party ideas without actually doing it myself! Enjoy this little corner of my home, fiesta style: I even made my own DIY mini piñatas by following this great tutorial I found on Pinterest! They turned out SO CUTE. I'm officially naming them Paco + Taco haha! Here's a little breakdown of what I did, + how easy it is to pull something like this together *on a budget!* I had so much fun putting this together! Hope you enjoyed my variation of this Mexican celebration! What are YOU planning on doing today for Cinco de Mayo? Keeping it simple or going all out?!
Happy *almost* May the Fourth! I'm SUPER excited to be sharing this post today because today's post I hope not only gives you inspiration for your own Star Wars inspired party, but more importantly, I hope it shows you how easy it is to pull something together that really helps to make the day (or week) special! I'm going to give you a step by step guide to help you raid your house/apartment to make it as Star Wars-y as possible! Step 1: Make a fun sign. If you have a letterboard, use it! If not, you can easily create your own creative sign on your computer or even freehand something with pens + paper! I saw something similar to my letterboard sign on Pinterest, but put a quarantine spin on it! Once you have your signs, onto step 2...
Step 3: Set the stage This is probably my favorite part about party planning! Putting this together was SO FUN. I'm tempted to keep this up for awhile now. Here's what I used to create this look: (Don't be intimidated, you can do this too!) *Gold + White Amazon Balloon Arch Kit $10 *Black Amazon Balloons $7 * Target "Congrats" Balloon Banner $6 *Toilet Paper Rolls- I drew the storm trooper faces on paper and then taped to the TP! *Letterboard *"Wash your Hans" sign that I printed + put into a gold frame I had at home *I printed + cut out C3PO + R2 from this site + added rhinestones *Borrowed my sister's replica lightsaber *Round Glass Candle Holder + mini terrariums *String lights Step 4: Set your table I used what I had at home: *White tablecloth *Black plate with a white small plate on top *Black napkins *Black + White Dish Towels for a pop of color *Regular glasses- I just love how they are shaped since it looks a little space-y Step 5: Add the little details Another fun part! I cut out the cute shadow puppets from this site to use around my table settings. I created these cute food labels on Canva to cute Star Wars themed foods I had in my pantry! *Yoda Soda | Ginger Ale Zevia *Edible Ewoks | Organic Gummy Bears *Vader Veggies | Broccoli + Carrots *Padawan Popcorn | Popcorn *The Force Fruit | Apples *Han Burgers | Hamburgers That's it! Hope this inspires you!Happy Star Wars Day!May the Fourth, the official Star Wars holiday for die hard fans + low key fans alike is coming up in less than a week! I will never forget when my dad introduced me to the original Star Wars trilogy at the ripe age of 6 years old. Some may say that was a bit early *cough cough* Mom *cough cough* but to this day, the opening theme song always brings so much nostalgia + takes me back to the first time I experienced the world of Star Wars. Since I grew up watching the original trilogy, followed by the prequels, + of course the continuations that have recently come out, it's safe to say that Star Wars is a collection that I have essentially grown up with. As someone who loves celebrating events (theme parties, weddings, anniversaries, you name it!), I see this day as another fun opportunity to create! During this quarantine time, what better way to make this "holiday" special, while also having fun + enjoying the moment than to throw yourselves a "May the Fourth" Star Wars party?! Don't forget to wash your Hans... Here are some fun ideas + resources to celebrate May the Fourth! -There's something about balloons that just shout "party" to me. Grab some balloons in your target cart or from amazon prime (if they'll make it in time!) Amazon has some EASY balloon arch kits that make it super simple without needing helium. -Print off a couple Star Wars inspired prints online (or if you're artsy- bust out those art supplies + create your own masterpiece!) to hang around the house. Pro tip: Pop them into a frame to make it look even more official. -Set up a festive menu with some super cute Star Wars themed foods (that you likely have in your pantry + fridge) like: *Padawan Popcorn *The Force Fruit *Vader Veggies *Wookie Water *Wookie Cookies *Vader-Ade *Edible Ewoks Don't forget the labels to make it official! -Pop in a movie or two + play Star Wars bingo! I found these SUPER cute templates from Paper Trail Design that are perfect! Here are a few more Star Wars themed resources that I found on Pinterest that you might find fun as well! * Star Wars Games * DIY GlowStick Lightsabers or Pencils * Easy Jedi Training *Printable Star Wars Shadow Puppets Of course, what is a Star Wars inspired day without Star Wars apparel!? Below are some cute tees to further inspire you into the Star Wars mood! Dress up! It's fun! :non sponsored:-links here: Top Left Storm Trooper Shirt Top Middle Leia Caffeine Shirt Top Right Leia Shirt Middle Left Gold Star Wars Logo Shirt Bottom Left Star Wars Logo Shirt Bottom Middle Baby Yoda Shirt Bottom Right Darth Vader Shirt One of my favorite Disney inspired apparel shops, Friday Apparel has lots of cute Star Wars + Baby Yoda stuff here too!
